Source unknown. The Battle of Maida occurred during the Napoleonic Wars and was fought on 4 July 1806 outside the town of San Pietro di Maida in Calabria, Italy. Described in British Museum Catalogue of Printed Maps, Charts and Plans, v.9 p.489. Although no ownership label is present, this map is believed to have belonged to the Honourable Robert Clifford. Acquired as part of the Cholmondely Collection.
