Printed map. "Par le Comte de Ferraris". Three visual scales [270 mm = 12,000 Toises or 6 Lieues communes de France]. Mounted on a linen backing and dissected into 8 sections. Original sheet number XVI. This is an elaborately engraved dedication scene with a map being presented to Joseph II. Scenes of cherubs , depicting mapping, commerce and war activities, surround the scene. In the background there are tents for the army and cavalry and a town with the surrounding fields. Pictorial, topographic map showing fortified cities, towns, religious sites, rivers, canals, battle sites, mines, mineral waters, etc. On verso: a Robert Clifford bookplate. An index to this set of maps is provided by RMC_9168. Acquired as part of the Lord Cholmondely Collection.
