The legend appears to have originally been in one column, which has been cut in half with the bottom half attached to the right side of the top half. The map shows, fortifications, forest, fields, elevation, roads, river and the placement of military units in the vicinity of Wissembourg (France). Dotted lines indicate the line of march to get the units into position. On verso: a Robert Clifford bookplate. Acquired as part of the Lord Cholmondely Collection.
