Description
Manuscript map. True north arrow and magnetic north arrow pointing to the bottom of the map. A list of the names of officers responsible for data collection for the map is given. "Compiled & corrected from the Astronomical Observations of The French Institute by order of Major Bryce, Commanding Engineer." Although no ownership label is present, this map is believed to have belonged to the Honourable Robert Clifford. Acquired by McMaster University in 1969 as part of the Lord Cholmondeley collection.
